Not knowing when you will have your next meal is an experience faced at least once a year by over 48,000 children in Collin County.
Donate to build the first kitchen in Collin County that will serve meals to anyone in need, no questions asked, no paperwork required.
Help end food insecurity in our community.
Thousands of children in Collin County are on the free and reduced breakfast and lunch program. Let’s make sure they have something to eat for dinner so they don’t go to bed hungry.
Poor nutrition during early childhood increases the chance of anemia, limits memory development and can affect a child’s ability to learn.

Community Garden Kitchen is Making Strides to End Hunger in Collin County

Community Garden Kitchen Board breaks ground

Our Vision:

To be a center of hope and compassion, ensuring that no one in our community suffers the fear and distress of food insecurity.

Our Mission:

To serve nutritious meals to those in need in a safe, welcoming place.

We encourage you to learn more about this project, donate or volunteer.

Data shows that McKinney, our county seat, is the epicenter of food insecurity in our county.

Community Garden Kitchen has teamed with Holy Family School of McKinney to design a multi-use facility which will be shared by the school and CGK as a place to prepare and serve meals. The building will also be home to community meetings and instructional classes in food preparation, nutrition and health.

Located near McKinney's historic downtown, the kitchen will provide for the growing needs of the school children as well as anyone who needs a meal and a sense of community.
