The first half of 2020 has brought new and tragic experiences to many people in our country, and I and my fellow board members want to express our sympathy to all who are suffering from the pandemic. We pray that this situation will soon come to an end and our nation can return to vibrancy, health, and prosperity.
Community Garden Kitchen began the year with high hopes, like many of you. We hit the ground running in January, finalizing plans and applying for the City of McKinney permits needed to begin construction on Collin County’s first free food kitchen. Then, the COVID-19 pandemic hit and the world as we knew it changed.
This pandemic has changed the thought of food insecurity into a heartbreaking reality for many more people in our community, only further affirming the necessity of our kitchen.
This is why we are writing to you today. We ended 2019 with enough funds to build the shell of the building. Now we are asking you to help us FINISH and FURNISH Community Garden Kitchen.
These funds will help us acquire kitchen equipment, finish out the interior, and purchase all that is necessary to make our kitchen a place of welcoming comfort to those who need it.
Our goal is $250,000 and we ask that you consider any amount to help us reach it so that we can fulfill our mission of serving nutritious meals to those in need in a safe and welcoming place.
I want to thank you for your steadfast support for the Community Garden Kitchen during these difficult times and appreciate your consideration of a gift that will help us to cross the finish line.Make a Secure Donation Now
